Blair sighed as her car pulled into the motel parking lot. It had been a long drive to Caldwell, Arizona. She was here to investigate some mysterious disappearances in a house off a highway. All females who recently broke it off with their significant others. The hunter wanted to investigate the House but she needed to rest. It's one thing she learned about focusing on spirits. If you run on two hours of sleep things can get a bit muddled.
She turned off the car and grabbed the bag in the back seat. Her knees popped when she climbed out of her faithful car. Blair was working on restoring her 1968 El Camino, she bought it with her deployment money. Getting a room under a nickname was easy, she had paid in advance with cash. As soon as she opened the room door and hit the bed, she was asleep. The hunter didn't sleep long though, she never did. Maybe she would get fragmented sleep. Her dreams were filled of screams and IED explosions. It had been years since her deployment but it filled like yesterday.
In the middle of the night she woke up after screaming out an order. The sweat from her nightmare made her cringe. Her eyes glanced to the clock it was 12 am. The psychic made the decision to go visit the house. Blair first showered and changed into fresh clothing, her dogtags jingled with her movement. All the hunting supplies she needed were in a back pack in the car. So once she was dressed it was go time. This night was just to get a feel of the house. Maybe, if it was an easy one she would get rid of the ghost tonight.
The drive to the haunted house was quiet, it was a good time to travel. No one wanted to be up at this hour. Hell, even she wanted to be in her bed. That was unlikely though since she doesn't sleep for long. Blair pulled into the long dirt driveway, the house was eerie. The house must of been beautiful back in the day. Before getting out, she got her gun and LED flashlight out of the glovebox. The back pack was in the truck which Blair grabbed before walking towards the porch. The medium did sense something but she wanted to make sure and see if there were more.
The psychic turned her flashlight on and kept her gun ready. You never knew if something other than a ghost was here. It seemed like an old house but there was so much more to it. Her sixth sense kicked into over drive. There was someone here but the ghost wouldn't give her his name. Her communication was interrupted by a noise, someone was coming and they were definitively not dead. Blair made the quick decision to hide. Her eyes darted to a closet as the noise got louder. It was hopefully a human and not something else.
